LEGAL NOTICE
This
is to notify that the City of
Union, Kentucky
is advertising for sealed bids for the repair of Cedarwood Drive
(generally between
Stoneybrook Court & Bayswater Drive) within Hempsteade Estates.
Bids
and Proposals in response to this solicitation will be opened and
publicly read
aloud on Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010 at 3:00 PM at the Union
City
Building located at 1843 Mt. Zion Rd., Union, KY.
In general, the work
shall
include the following: a) wheel chair ramps with truncated domes at
street
intersections; b) under drains and a side drain system; c) milling of
existing
pavement and full resurfacing with asphalt concrete and joint sealing;
and d)
traffic calming devices, specifically two-(2) asphalt speed humps.
A
copy
of the Bid Documents, Plans and Specifications can be printed from the
city's
website at http://www.cityofunionky.org
or purchased at the city building for a non-refundable fee of $30. Each
sealed bid shall be
accompanied by either a cashier’s check or satisfactory bid bond, in a
sum,
which is not less than five (5%) percent of the aggregate amount of the
bid,
payable to the City of Union. The successful bidder is required to
execute and to
provide construction contract surety in an amount not less than 100% of
the
bid.
Please forward all bids to the
City Clerk, c/o the City of Union, KY, P.O. Box 53, 1843 Mt. Zion Rd.,
Union,
KY 41091-0053. The city has the right to reject any and all bids.
An award to the successful bidder is anticipated at the City Commission
Meeting
on Monday, June 7th, 2010 at 7PM.
