The City of Union is seeking applicants for the position of City Administrator.
The position will replace current CAO Matthew Dowling, who has resigned to accept the same position with the City of Elsmere, Kentucky. Dowling left his position at Union at the end of February 2017.
“We hope to fill the position with an excellent candidate as soon as possible, but we will look closely to find someone who fits our city and our vision for the future,” said Mayor Larry Solomon.
Application materials and information on the position are available at the City of Union website at www.cityofunionky.org. Any qualified candidate who is interested in the position will be reviewed by the committee for consideration. The city will accept applicants through May 30, when screening for those who have applied will begin and interviews with the most qualified candidates will be scheduled. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
“We are looking for someone who has experience, but also the potential for growth with our city,” Solomon added. “Union is one of the fastest growing cities in Northern Kentucky, and the person who fills this position will need to be innovative and aggressive in their goals and approaches to keep us at the forefront of the rapid economic development in the region. We are looking for someone who seeks a challenge and will grow in potential right along with our city growth.”
“I have had a wonderful experience working in Union and truly appreciate the opportunity to work with the residents, staff and elected officials,” said Dowling. ”I have learned a great deal working in Union and hope my experience working in Union, SD1 and Covington will prepare me well for my time in Elsmere. I am looking forward to working with (Elsmere) Mayor Lenhof, the city council and staff to serve the residents and businesses of Elsmere. I would like to thank Mayor Solomon and the Union City Commission for the opportunity to work here in Union.”
