Commissioner Doug Bine

Commissioner Doug Bine was born and raised in Sacramento, California where he enjoyed a 24-year long firefighting career with Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District.  During his career, Doug served in several positions and on many committees, endeavoring to improve the safety and effectiveness of his profession. After retiring in 2013, desiring to re-locate closer to extended family, Doug, along with his wife Tabetha and their three children, chose the city of Union to call home.  Doug continues to work part-time as a Criminal Court researcher for a global employment background investigation firm.

Doug and Tab’s oldest son Connor is serving in the US Army and is posted in Okinawa, Japan.  Their only daughter Megan is a graduate of Cleveland State University and is serving in the US Air Force.  The youngest of the three, Daxton, is a Gray Middle School student and member of the Northern Kentucky Young Marines. 

As commissioner, Doug is the chair of the Economic Development Committee for the city of Union and has also been appointed to serve on the city’s Executive Committee.
