Kimberly Tuyn-Commissioner

 

Commissioner Kimberly Tuyn was raised in Buffalo, NY and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Dietetics from Buffalo State College. She returned to school mid-career, graduating from Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College with an MBA in Finance.

Tuyn began her career as a Compliance Office/Industrial Hygienist with US Dept. of Labor/OSHA – Region 2 where she conducted general schedule, complaint, and workplace fatality investigations. She left the federal government to work for FMC Corporation continuing her passion for the occupational safety & health field. She continued to excel while working in manufacturing, aviation, oil & gas, and medical device sectors. During her 30+ year career, Tuyn held numerous global roles where her teams were responsible for developing and implementing global strategies supporting occupational safety & health regulations, injury & risk reduction, business resiliency and continuity, and sustainability initiatives.

In June of 2023, Tuyn retired from Danaher Corporation as Vice President of Environmental, Health, and Safety, and moved from the Greater Chicago Area to Union, KY. Tuyn has a strong belief in servant leadership and leveraging her skills and strengths to serve others. Her current volunteerism includes sitting on the Gorman Heritage Farm Foundation Board, supporting health, wellness, and food insecurity programs at LaSoupe and St. Elizabeth’s Integrative Oncology Department and supporting events at CityLink Center.

Tuyn has been with her Partner Lisa for 21 years. They have a 33-year-old son named Seamus and a Boxer named Frida. Tuyn and her family remain highly active with a focus on health and wellness and are avid global travelers.
