CITY OF UNION, KENTUCKY
ORDINANCE NO. 2026-06
AN ORDINANCE SETTING THE COMPENSATION FOR MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSIONERS FOR THE CITY OF UNION, KENTUCKY
WHEREAS, pursuant to K.R.S. 83A.075(1) the Department of Local Government calculates the maximum allowable annual compensation for elected officials; and
WHEREAS, that pursuant to K.R.S. 83A.070 (1), the legislative body of each city shall fix the compensation of every elected city officer not later than the first Monday in May in the year the officer is elected; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to K.R.S. 83A.070 (1), the increase in the compensation for the Mayor and City Commissioners for the City of Union, Kentucky shall take effect on January 1, 2027; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to set the compensation for the Mayor and members of the City Commission for the term beginning January 1, 2027; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and the members of the City Commission have earned a raise in their compensation;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED BY THE UNION CITY COMMISSION AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I
That the compensation for the Office Mayor for the City of Union, Kentucky shall be set at $9,000.00 a year, beginning January 1, 2027.
SECTION II
That the compensation for City Commissioners for the City of Union, Kentucky shall be set at $8,100.00 a year for each Commissioner, beginning January 1, 2027.
